Resource: Holiday Music (and More!)
You will find three articles in this issue to help you plan. The first is Resource: Holiday Music (and More!). As the name implies, you will find links to holiday music - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day and 4th of July/patriotic holidays are all covered. There are even links to a few holiday related activities. While it would be impossible to list all the holiday music, this article will give you, at the very least, a good starting point. If you are looking for even more ideas, you can check out similar articles in Issues 1, 73 and 24.
Notes with Nick By Nick Ambrosino and Play to Learn: Let's Play! By Michael Katz
Nick Ambrosino has more advice in his monthly column, Notes with Nick and Michael Katz has more ideas for introducing improvistion to your students in Play to Learn: Let's Play!
A Scary Song
A Scary Song can be used with students of all levels. It can be taught by rote to early readers or used as a reading piece with more advanced readers.
Minuet in G... Minor
The second piece was written for more advanced players. Minuet in G...Minor is a spooky take on Minuet in G. My students have always enjoyed playing this one too.
10 Yummy Treats for Your Next Recital or Piano Party
Then be sure to read 10 Yummy Treats for Your Next Recital or Piano Party. If you are involved with any piano teacher Facebook groups, you will probably be familiar with some snacks and treats. The ones I dug up, for the most part are different. You won't want to miss this article if you like to prepare treats and snacks for your students.
5 Ideas to Spruce Up Your Next Holiday Event
Finally, in 5 Ideas to Spruce Up Your Next Holiday Event you will find inspiration to spruce up your next recital or piano party. Even if you are not big on crafting, you might find an idea or two you can use. Two pieces suitable for Halloween are included in this issue. Long time subscribers may recognize these pieces, but I am including them again for new subscribers.
