The Music of the Wrists and The Magic of Wrist Circles
I always feel fortunate when Rami Bar-Niv (on the cover) agrees to contribute an article and this month he has contributed not one, but two! This month Rami talks about the wrists in his two pieces - The Music of the Wrists and The Magic of Wrist Circles. can be difficult to adequately explain physical movements such as the movement of the wrists while playing, but between descriptive words, pictures and video, I think Rami shares some important concepts. You won't want to miss either of these.
Notes with Nick By Nick Ambrosino and Play to Learn: Let's Play! By Michael Katz
Nick Ambrosino is back this month with more advice in his column Notes with Nick and Michael Katz has some ideas (including a download) on playing with rhythm to inspire melodic invention in his monthly column Play to Learn: Let's Play!
Practice Time

Exercises in Voicings: Emphasizing the Melody Line
A few weeks ago, I started reading blog posts from a new blogger that I found intriguing and informative. Known as The Piano Bear, Paul Huynh is not a teacher but a student of piano and all things piano. I asked him if he would contribute an article to this issue and he graciously agreed. Paul addresses the melody line in Exercises in Voicings: Emphasizing the Melody Line. I hope you enjoy his thoughts as much as I have so far.
