The Jeannine Wilkerling Interview
We recently caught up with the delightful Jeannine Wilkerling, one of Germany’s top pole dancers. Jeannine is also one of the most pro-active artists we’ve ever had the opportunity to talk to, competing internationally in prestigious pole competitions such as Pole Dance World Championships and the European Championships, as well as a proud organizer of Miss and Mister Pole Dance Germany, business owner, instructor and social media extraordinaire! The list truly does go on and on, and how she fits it all in is beyond us.
Champion Lesson: The Star
This month we have the lovely and crazy-talented original Miss Pole Dance Germany, Jeannine Wilkerling, teaching us a great pole trick called The Star. This is one of Jeannine’s favorite moves to perform and teach, so have fun and keep practicing!
Contortion Lesson - Camel Twist
The Camel Twist will have you both bending and twisting your back. This is a great way to improve your back flexibility over time, and will allow you to do more complicated moves with ease. Angie breaks down this move into easy to digest steps, but be certain to take your time and listen to your body. This move takes practice and perseverance, but once you do get it, you will quickly reap the rewards of improved flexibility.
Pole Choreography Part 3, Pole Lesson
This is the last and final section of the wonderful ‘All of Me’ routine by the awesome Kristy Sellars. Over the past two months Kristy has done an incredible job of breaking down this unique piece of choreography, and this is the cherry on the proverbial cake. Enjoy the final piece of the puzzle!
Recipe: Zero Carb Flax Bread
This issue Cassey shares another awesomely nutritious recipe: Zero Carb Flax Bread! We can’t wait to make this healthy bread to dip into chunky vegetable soups or to take on Spring time picnics. Cassey also includes a method to make this into sweet bread to satisfy those sugary cravings. Enjoy! For more great clean eats, go to Cassey’s blog, www.Blogilates.com.
Bare Feet or Heels?
I've been asked recently what the difference is between poling in bare feet and poling in heels. I used to pole in heels without fail. When I first started to learn 7 or 8 years ago, it was the done thing. I loved wearing heels and deciding what pair to bring to class. I only stopped wearing them when I started to invert - always with the intention of wearing them again one day. I just couldn't get upside down with heels on, and for some reason they seemed to have stayed off ever since.
Full-Body Pole Como Workout
A powerful pole combination lesson from Amandine Philippe as part of the RAD Polewear lesson series. Particularly working out the arms, shoulders, hips and legs, it’s a real full body workout.
Pole Dance Supernova
Here we present interviews and stories from Supernovas from around the world; exceptional women and men whose lives have been touched by pole dancing and who give back to the pole dance community in fun and interesting ways. We hope you enjoy and get some pole-spiration from these awesome people!
Pole Move Demos
These demonstration videos were contributed by our friends at PoleDanceDictionary.com as supporting material to complement Jeannine Wilkerling’s exclusive lesson on the pole trick, Star, at the beginning of this issue. Have fun!
